Gautam Gambhir will turn out for Delhi against Rajasthan in the next round of the Ranji Trophy starting on Nov 21 after the opener was left out of the playing XI in the ongoing second Test against England in Visakhapatnam. Gambhir scored 29 and naught in the drawn first Test.

"The selectors have spoken to Gautam and he has expressed his interest in playing the next round as he will be getting valuable match time. That's the reason we have named Gautam in the squad. In case, we don't get him, we have kept Himmat Singh as cover," Cricbuzz quoted an unnamed Delhi selector as saying.

Fast bowler Ishant Sharma, who is the part of the Indian Test squad, is unlikely to travel for the domestic game despite also being named in the 16-member Delhi squad as bowlers are generally required for practice sessions during an international series.
