I'd get rid of T20Is for good: Stuart Clark

Stuart Clark says that apart from the domestic T20 leagues, the short format should be limited to World Cups, played once every four years. His statements come as an Australian side prepares to take on India in the Test series even as another Aussie team faces Sri Lanka in a T20 series at home.

Former Australian fast bowler Stuart Clark is seriously irritated by the amount of T20 cricket being played, most of which he thinks is meaningless.

"You ever heard of the 'Who Cares Cup?' This is the 'Who Cares Cup'. We're not even playing our best team. They're all in India, having a game of Test cricket," he told Fox News, referring to the upcoming three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka.

The scheduling for the T20 series has caused a lot of problems for the Australian team as the last T20 is scheduled on February 22. And on the very next day, February 23, Australia have to begin playing their first Test against India, in India. This means Australia will have to field a second-string side against the Sri Lankans as their best players will have to be in India. And with coach Darren Lehmann and his staff already in India, the team would have also have to be managed by Justin Langer and assistant coaches Ricky Ponting and Jason Gillespie.

"I'd get rid of them for good; there'd be no more T20 internationals other than a World Cup every four years. No one cares (about T20Is) because everyone always rests their players. We do it every year," added Clark.

Australian opener David Warner also criticised the scheduling the day after it was announced last year, because "You want to be putting your best team on the park all the time."
