Jason Gillespie: I may consider coaching India in future

Former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie has acknowledged that he was in two minds about applying for the Indian coaching job this time around, but may seriously consider applying for the post in the future. Having said this, the 42-year-old also congratulated Ravi Shastri on his appointment.
On Tuesday, the BCCI finally brought an end to the mystery over the identity of India’s next coach as they named Ravi Shastri for the post. The BCCI also named Zaheer Khan as the bowling consultant of the team and Rahul Dravid as the overseas batting consultant.
" I think it would have been a wonderful job and I congratulate Ravi Shastri on getting that job, maybe one day in a couple of years that'd be something I'd seriously consider," Gillespie was quoted saying by Cricket Australia’s official website.
However, Gillespie did acknowledge that he had considered applying for the post, but was confused about the same. "I talked a lot about that with my family, I had days where I thought, right, I'm definitely applying for it, I'm going to have a crack and see how far I get," the Australian said.
"Other days where I wasn't so sure. In the end, I just felt I wasn't quite ready for that opportunity," he concluded.
During his career, the right-arm pacer took 259 Test wickets in 71 matches and 142 wickets in 97 One-Day International (ODI) matches in his international career spanning between 1996 and 2006.
