Pacer Jofra Archer, who was bought by Quetta Gladiators, has been ruled out of the ongoing Pakistan Super League due to a side strain as his participation in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League hangs in balance. He would be replaced by Australia's Ben Laughlin as a cover.

Quetta Gladiators had picked Sussex's Jofra Archer as a replacement for all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite after the all-rounder had decided to prioritize West Indies over the PSL. However, with the league just being a week-old now, the Gladiators got a setback as the news of his ruling out due to a side strain broke out.

The 22-year old made an impressive start to the season and returned with the figures of 2 for 30 and 3 for 23 in his first two games, before being rested for the next two matches.

But right now, his participation in the upcoming IPL has come under severe doubt as there is no definite time given for his recovery and his availability for Rajasthan Royals, who bought him for INR 7.20 crore, is yet to be revealed.
