BPL franchise Chattogram Challengers, on Monday, have announced that Chris Gayle would indeed feature in the team for the upcoming season of the BPL. Gayle’s availability has now become an issue of the past after the opener commented that he was unsure of how his name reached the BPL.

Chattogram Challengers, who were put in the clouds over the availability of their overseas player Chris Gayle confirmed his availability on Monday. The left-handed opener, who recently took a break from International cricket, alerted the Challengers with his comment "I don't even know how my name reached the BPL".

According to Cricbuzz, the opener was not happy with the remuneration that was put on the table by the Bangladeshi franchisee. The franchise picked the left-handed talisman for a sum of USD 100000 and were hopeful of this participation in the upcoming season of the BPL.

''We are happy to announce that Gayle will play for us and there is no uncertainty about his participation in the tournament,'' said Challengers' Managing Director KM Rifatuzzaman.

Further, Rifatuzzaman confirmed that they would not be having the opener for the entire tournament with Gayle still recovering from a hamstring problem but was hopeful that he played a part.

“We have finalised everything with Gayle's agent. Some formalities are not done yet, but all those things will be completed soon,'' he concluded.

As per the reports on Cricbuzz, the left-handed opener would be available for selection from the 4th of January, which would fall in the final leg of the tournament that would take place in Dhaka.
