Twitter reacts as South Africa troll themselves by finally dismissing Virat Kohli - off a no-ball

Oh South Africa! The saying “Just when you think it cannot get worse, it can” can’t get truer. Just when it looked like they got some breathing space after finally dismissing Virat Kohli post his double century, horror struck the visitors as replays showed that Muthusamy had indeed overstepped.

If Day 1 was a sucker punch on the gut, Day 2 has so far been a knockout punch straight to the face. Yes, that’s how much India have dominated South Africa so far and for the entirety of the day, the body language of the Proteas suggested that they had already conceded defeat and were just waiting for the match to get over. India’s charge was led by none other than Virat Kohli, who played a flawless knock to bring up his 7th double century. When it looked like it was going to be impossible for the Saffers to dismiss him, Senuran Muthusamy sprung a surprise and induced an edge off his bat, that was caught safely at first slip by Faf du Plessis.

The Proteas started rejoicing but had to keep their celebrations on hold as the umpires did a customary no-ball check. No prizes for guessing what happened next, as to their horror, Muthusamy had overstepped. Kohli, who could barely believe his luck, walked back to the crease bursting with laughter and even the South African players - de Kock and Aiden Markram - saw the lighter side of things, laughing the incident off. You gotta feel for the Proteas!

Here is how Twitter reacted to the same:

Virat Kohli was Lucky enough!!

Muthusamy the No-ball hero!!😂😂

You can't make such a mistake against Virat Kohli!

Wrong ball to wrong guy!!

Hmmm! Cute.
