Hope there will be reconciliation between players and board, says Akram Khan

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has called an emergency meeting of its directors on Tuesday after players decided to call a strike against the board, and board director Akram Khan hopes that a resolution is found. The India tour begins on November 3 and the board has 48 hours to convince the players.

With the next round of the first-class National Cricket League matches - taking place in four venues across the country - just two days away, the BCB just have a little more time to convince the players to start their training for the upcoming India tour, starting on November 3.

While the cricketers have received support from captain Mashrafe Mortaza and other cricketers in general, the cricket board has given mixed reactions. 

Many board directors have expressed their disapproval of the strike but BCB’s Head of cricket operations Akram Khan has an agreeable stance. He has called for a meeting on Tuesday to reach a solution.

"These things always start with a movement. Once you sit with the board, it is no longer a movement. The board is there to serve the cricketers' purpose. I hope there will be reconciliation between the players and the board. We will try to solve their issues in the board meeting [on Tuesday]," said the former cricketer and now board director.
