Avesh Khan scored a fine 64 towards the end as India Red secured a one-run lead over India Green to take three points and top the points table entering the Duleep Trophy final. While Blue finished equal on points with Green, the latter made their place in the final courtesy a superior Net Run Rate.

After resuming their final day batting on 404 for 9, Red needed another 37 runs to take the first-innings lead with Avesh and Sandeep Warrier being the last pair on the field. The pressure of it didn't really make a difference as Avesh stroked a 56-ball 64 with two boundaries and seven sixes to overhaul India Green's 440. Ankit Rajpoot ended the innings with figures of 3 for 71.

After that, the entirety of the game was hugely inconsequential but Green reached 98 for 3 before the match ended in a draw, with Dhruv Shorey scoring an unbeaten 140-ball 44. Faiz Fazal and Siddesh Lad added 11 and 20 respectively while each of Jaydev Unadkat, Akshay Wakhare, and Aditya Sarwate picked up one wicket each.

However, the result meant Blue is out of contention for a place in the final and Green have set up a final bout with the Red, to be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, starting on September 4.
