India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the three-Test series against South Africa after suffering a minor stress fracture in his lower back. 31-year-old Umesh Yadav, who was also a part of the Indian squad for the Tests against the Windies, has been named as the replacement.

Team India have been dealt a body blow ahead of their three-Test series against South Africa, with pace stalwart Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of all three Tests with a minor stress fracture in his lower back. The news comes with less than 10 days left for the first Test to commence. Umesh Yadav, who featured for India 'A' in the unofficial Tests against South Africa 'A', has been roped in as Bumrah's replacement.

Bumrah sensationally picked 13 wickets in two Tests for India against the Windies last month and while it did look like he was not fully fit, he was expected to partake in the three Tests against the Proteas in what would have been his first Test on home soil. But as things stand, the 25-year-old would now have to wait longer to play his first Test in India.

Umesh Yadav, on the other hand, has represented India in 41 Tests and also featured against the Proteas in the Mohali and Delhi Tests in 2015.
