Guyana Amazon Warriors bowler Odean Smith broke Chris Gayle’s bat into two pieces on the second ball of the third over. Gayle, who plays for St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, scored 42 runs from 27 balls with five boundaries and three sixes to lead the Patriots to a seven-wicket victory.

However, on the very next ball, Gayle again tried to find the same spot on the field but this time his bat could not handle the brute force. The bat came apart cleanly at the handle as Gayle just stood and watched on.
