Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has said they are happy to register back-to-back wins for the first time in IPL 2022 after his side beat PBKS by 17 runs on Monday. Pant admitted that they wanted to remain consistent all the time but eventually, they got everything right at the business end.

Delhi Capitals (DC) kept their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 Playoffs' fate in their hands with an easy 17-run win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Monday in Match 64 of the ongoing edition at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai. They restricted PBKS to 142/9 after getting 159/7 batting first. Notably, with the victory, DC, for the first time this season, won back-to-back matches. They beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by eight wickets in their last encounter.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Rishabh Pant, the DC skipper, was seen pleased with his team's performance. Pant also mentioned that they have won successive matches at the right time, which would definitely help going forward.

"Throughout the tournament we have been losing one, and winning one game. That's something we wanted to change as a team and we got it," Pant said at the post-match presentation.

"The only process was to take it deep, with spinners getting help and we saw the same pattern happen with the other team as well. We gonna assess the wicket and see how it goes (next game)."

Further, when asked about Prithvi Shaw's availability, Pant said they are yet to know about his fitness. "We will get to know in few days time (regarding Prithvi Shaw's injury update)," he added.

Following the result, DC leapfrogged Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to claim the fourth spot. They have now won seven matches and lost six, the same as RCB's, but boast of having a better net run rate. PBKS, on the other hand, remained at seventh place, with six wins and seven defeats.
