There is no room for unfit candidates in the fast-paced world of sporting culture and Rajat Patidar just personified the athleticism required in a sport like cricket on Sunday. He made an incredible effort at the edge of the boundary ropes to deny Sudharsan a potential six in Ahmedabad.

‌Winning the toss and electing to field first went decent for the Bengaluru-based side as Swapnil Singh removed Wriddhiman Saha early, followed by the other bowlers checking the run-scoring rate for the first half of the innings. However, Sai Sudharsan’s terrific knock set up the GT total of 200 despite Patidar’s attempt to save a six grabbing people’s attention. 

On the third ball of the 20th over, Yash Dayal dragged the length short and outside the off to set-batter Sudharsan who tried to heave towards the deep mid wicket region. The southpaw judged the slower one well off the fingers and almost got a six until an acrobatic Patidar effort denied him the boundary. The Madhya Pradesh-bred ran along the ropes and dived forward to pull the ball inside the field of play before maintaining his poise by going outside the ropes. Although Faf was running in from mid-wicket behind Patidar, he was a good distance away from grabbing the ball, missing out on an opportunity to get a wicket.The Twitterverse was awed by the incredible effort from Patidar near the cushions and lauded the abilities.
