A well-executed yorker is poetry in motion, leaving the batsman helpless and the crowd in awe. A parallel event unfolded during the match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals when CSK’s Matheesha Pathirana altered the game's trajectory for CSK with two exceptional yorkers.

After winning the toss, the Delhi Capitals made an impressive start, reaching 80/0 in the first eight overs. However, their momentum faltered when both their openers, David Warner and Prithvi Shaw, were dismissed after the powerplay. Yet, Mitchell Marsh and Rishabh steadied the ship for Delhi, forging a solid 31-run partnership and guiding their team to 129/2 by the 14th over. However, the game took a dramatic turn when MS Dhoni brought back Matheesha Pathirana to bowl the 15th over.

In a stunning display of skill, Pathirana unleashed a blazing 150 kmph yorker on the fourth delivery of the over, leaving Marsh bewildered as it rattled the stumps. Undeterred, the 21-year-old followed it up with another impeccable yorker on the last ball, dismissing Tristan Stubbs with equal precision. The ball, again clocking around 150 kmph, crashed onto the middle stump, leaving the 23-year-old South African batsman stunned. Outsmarting two modern-day exponents of T20 cricket  with sheer precision and skill, Pathirana brought CSK back in the contest in an over itself.

The cricketing community on Twitter erupted in praise for Pathirana's game-changing performance, acknowledging the young Sri Lankan pacer's brilliance on the field.
