Twitter mocks Kohli for throwing away wicket trying to emulate SKY

Post Ab de Villiers, Suryakumar Yadav has been the standard bearer of consistency while playing a 360 brand of cricket. Virat Kohli, batting against Hardik Pandya, tried to hit a SKY-esque shot at the Wankhede, of all places, but ended up holeing to Naman Dhir to bring an end to a brilliant innings.

A struggling Mumbai Indians side, bolstered by the return of Jasprit Bumrah, got off to the perfect start as Trent Boult sent Phil Salt packing on the second ball of the innings. However, RCB were in no mood to consolidate as they went gung-ho on the Mumbai attack accumulating a high 73 in the powerplay. By the midway mark, even though Padikkal was back in the hut, the team from Karnataka had an even 100 on the board. As Patidar started attacking, Kohli was not going to be left behind.

With Pandya following a 20-run Santner over, Kohli decided to bring out his artistic side. The former RCB skipper shuffled across his wicket, much like compatriot SKY, as he tried to attack the vacant square leg. However, he mistimed the ball horribly as Naman Dhir charged in from deep midwicket to grab a simple wicket.

While trying to hit a SKY shot at the Wankhede was admirable, Twitter were not so kind in their understanding of the shot.
