ENG vs IND | Twitter in awe as Jasprit Bumrah offers food for thought after ball falls short

Bowlers are often considered the thinking lot in the game of cricket, and Jasprit Bumrah proved exactly that during the Lord’s Test against England. With the ball falling short after taking an edge in the first over, the pacer asked Rishabh Pant to stand closer as the cherry did not carry.

‌With the five-match series level at 1-1, England won the toss and elected to bat first at Lord’s in London. The Indian pace attack was bolstered by the return of spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who came into the side in place of Prasidh Krishna after being rested for the second game in Birmingham.

And the pacer immediately showed what he brings to the table, being right on the mark in his very first over. He bowled an away swinger in the fourth ball of the over to get opener Ben Duckett’s outside edge.

But the batter was lucky as the ball fell short of the lunging Rishabh Pant, who did well to stop the ball from running away to the ropes. Immediately, Bumrah asked Pant to come forward, explaining that there was no carry for the new cherry, as the pitch was soft.

Twitter was amazed by the bowler’s quick thinking as he demonstrated why he is the best in modern-day cricket.

 Wait for it!
