IPL Qualifier 1 | Twitter slams Kohli’s repeated mistake as he throws it away outside off yet again

Few things in cricket are as inevitable as Virat Kohli's love affair with deliveries outside off stump. The same story unfolded in the Qualifier 1 clash between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where the former RCB skipper once again fell victim to his familiar flaw.

‌Punjab Kings had a disastrous start to Qualifier 1 after losing the toss and being asked to bat first. Their opening stand crumbled, the middle order failed to steady the ship, and a three-wicket haul each from Suyash Sharma and Josh Hazlewood dismantled Punjab’s innings for just 101 in 14.1 overs. In response, Royal Challengers Bengaluru got off to a flying start, racing to 30/0 in the first three overs. But the ever-familiar curse returned with Virat Kohli’s unfortunate luck with deliveries outside off stump.

On the second ball of the fourth over, Kyle Jamieson came over the wicket at 131 kmph. The delivery was back of a length, angling across outside off. Kohli, the former RCB skipper, slightly backed away, failed to move his feet, and reached out away from his body. The extra bounce took the outside edge and carried at waist height to Josh Inglis behind the stumps. Once again, Kohli’s longstanding struggle with outside the off stump resurfaced, sendingthe  Twitterverse into a frenzy.
