Top-class fast bowlers often command respect with Jasprit Bumrah being one of the modern-day pacers who is not often taken on by the batters. But Bangladesh’s Parvez Hossain Emon shocked the Indian pacer with a stunning six during the Super Four match in Asia Cup T20 2025 in Dubai.

‌India managed to make 168/6 against Bangladesh in their Super Four Asia Cup T20 2025 game after Abhishek Sharma’s six-hitting prowess took the Men in Blue to 72/0 in six overs, their best powerplay score in this edition of the tournament. The southpaw smashed five sixes and six fours during his 37-ball 75, but a middle-order collapse saw the side fall well short of a 200-plus target.

In reply, Bangladesh were off to a silent start with pacer Jasprit Bumrah striking in his very first over. With the score reading 9/1 after the first two overs, fellow opener Saif Hassan and new batter Parvez Hossain Emon inject some momentum into the game.

Hassan hit two fours in Hardik Pandya’s next over before Emon welcomed Varun with two fours in a 13-run over. Bumrah walked in for his third over in the powerplay and started well with two away swinging deliveries around off stump, forcing Emon to tap both to the close-in fielders.

But Emon broke free and put his hands to good work as Bumrah shortened his length. The southpaw was quick to react as he sent the pacer over his head with a cross-batted hit. He connected well as the ball landed well behind the long-on fence, with the Tigers ending the powerplay at 44/1.

Twitter was in awe of Emon’s courage as he decided to take on the world’s best bowler with a stunning hit.
