Among all the major sport in the world, football boasts of the most number of anomalies on field on a frequent basis. Ligue 1’s game between Nantes and Paris Saint Germain saw one on Sunday when the referee appeared to kick back at a Nantes player after tripping over him before sending him off.

The match was pretty one-directional from the very beginning. Argentine international Angel Di Maria had given the league leaders a lead before the half-time in absence of stars like Neymar and Thiago Motta. The outcome was pretty much decided with PSG going 11 points clear of second-placed Monaco. However, the highlight of the night went to the strange incident involving referee Tony Chapron and Nantes player Diego Carlos just before the finish.

It was right the last minute of the game when PSG were going on the counter up the pitch. Nantes players were tracking back as Kylian Mbappe raced towards the Nantes goal. Chapron seemed to accidentally cross paths with Carlos following which he stumbled and fell on the ground. However, the official was quite surprisingly seen having a swinging kick with his right boot at the player.

The furious referee didn’t stop at that before he decided to show the player a yellow card, which happened to be his second of the night. The player looked stunned in disbelief and was unwilling to leave the field before his teammates persuaded him. The match ended three minutes after the controversial incident. The French club will surely appeal to the administration about the incident.
