HOPS FC End I-League Season with Draw Against Sethu FC

Both goals came in the first half — Sethu’s Hadijah Nandago opened the scoring in the 38th minute, but HOPS’ Gladys Amfobea equalised in first-half stoppage time (45+2’). Despite second-half efforts from both sides, the match ended without a winner.

HOPS FC, already relegated before this game, finished the season in eighth place with just 9 points from 14 matches — a difficult campaign that saw them struggle throughout. Nonetheless, their final performance showed resilience and determination. Sethu FC, once considered title contenders, also endured an underwhelming season, ending in fifth place with 17 points from 14 matches.

Elsewhere in the league, Diamond Harbour FC finished their I-League 2 campaign unbeaten with 34 points, earning promotion. Meanwhile, Kickstart FC secured survival thanks to goals from Bibicha and Karishma, and East Bengal claimed their maiden IWL title by defeating defending champions Odisha. The overall season concluded with a mix of dramatic escapes, unexpected triumphs, and new beginnings for several teams across the divisions.
