With three consecutive second-place finishes, Mikel Arteta believes Arsenal can finally win the Premier League in 2025-26. However, Opta’s prediction gives Arsenal a 25.4% chance, just behind Liverpool’s 27.8% of lifting the title this season.

Coming to the 2025-26 Premier League season, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed strong belief that his team can finally end their long title drought. After finishing second for three consecutive seasons, Arteta insists the squad is more determined than ever to go one better this time. Arsenal became the first club to place runners-up in the top flight three years in a row twice in history, the first being from 1998-2001.

To strengthen their chances, the Gunners have been highly active in the summer transfer window, signing Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, Christian Norgaard, Cristhian Mosquera, and Kepa Arrizabalaga. Arteta says these additions bring both depth and quality, crucial for a season-long title push. Despite the optimism, the Opta supercomputer has predicted another near miss, giving Arsenal a 25.4% chance of winning the title, just behind defending champions Liverpool, who lead with 27.8%.

Arsenal’s pre-season tour included a 3-2 win over Newcastle and a 2-1 loss to rivals Tottenham. They now return to Emirates Stadium for two key friendlies before opening their league campaign against Manchester United on August 17. Arteta is urging fans to unite with the players, creating a fortress-like home advantage throughout the season.
