During the ongoing summer break, 17-year-old Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has been vacationing in Brazil alongside Neymar, his idol and former Barça legend. The duo has been spotted partying in Rio and relaxing at Neymar’s mansion in Mangaratiba. In a viral Instagram post, Yamal posed with Neymar and captioned it, “Single and happy, this is Brazil!”, a phrase that quickly got over 2 million likes and 25,000 comments. His statement subtly addressed recent rumours about a possible relationship with 29-year-old Spanish flight attendant Fátima Vázquez.

Yamal also spent time bonding with locals, playing football in Rio’s favelas and enjoying beach outings with world champion surfer Gabriel Medina. Neymar praised Yamal’s humble nature, joking, “Turned out to be a kid!” as the two share similar humble roots and have formed a close friendship.

Yamal still has three weeks left before rejoining Barcelona's preseason on July 13, coinciding with his 18th birthday. While Barça coach Hansi Flick is slightly concerned about the player’s busy social schedule, he remains understanding. As one of the club’s top earners alongside Nico Williams, Yamal is under the spotlight, both on and off the pitch, as Barça prepares for a crucial 2025-26 season.
