When the 2024–25 Premier League season ended, Manchester United moved swiftly towards securing Wolves forward Matheus Cunha in a £62.5 million transfer deal. The 25-year-old Brazilian, who scored 15 goals in 33 league appearances this season, is set to join United pending finalization of personal terms.

BBC Sport reports that United will pay the entire fee in three instalments over two years: an initial £20.8 million upon signing, a second payment at the end of next season, and the final amount by summer 2027. Cunha, who joined Wolves from Atletico Madrid in January 2023, has made 92 appearances and netted 33 goals for the club. His release clause means United can bypass lengthy negotiations if they meet the fee.

Cunha’s emotional farewell on social media thanked fans, calling this his best season yet and highlighting his achievement of equaling the Premier League season goal record for a Brazilian alongside Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Martinelli. While Wolves await a formal offer, sources suggest the deal is close to completion. If finalized, this transfer would mark a significant move for United as they strengthen their attack ahead of the new season.
