Central Delhi Kings brutally outmuscled the South Delhi Superstarz by a huge margin of nine wickets in the low-scoring 13th DPL 2025 game. Star CDK pacer Simarjeet Singh starred with the ball (3/15 in three overs) before the opening pair of Yash Dhull and Siddharth Joon came up with fiery knocks.

Central Delhi Kings skipper Jonty Sidhu won the toss and asked South Delhi Superstarz to bat first. CDK’s bowling trio of Simarjeet Singh, Money Grewal, and Tejas Baroka lived up to the expectations of their skipper, proving his bowling-first decision right. Simarjeet gave the double blow by dismissing Kunwar Bidhuri (9) and Ayush Badoni (2) in the second and fourth overs, respectively. Grewal and Khurana carried forward the same intent and dismissed Tejasvi Dahiya (15) and Sumit Mathur (9) in the two back-to-back overs. Furthermore, Vision Panchal was caught by Siddharth Joon off Pranshhu Vijayran’s bowling in the eighth over. It left the Superstarz clueless as they lost half of their team at the score of just 44 runs in 7.5 overs. However, Gulzar Sandhu tried to show a bit of resilience with his knock of 16 runs off 16 balls. Capitalizing on Superstarz’s early collapse, Baroka (3/12 in four overs) managed to hit the last nails in the coffin to bundle out South Delhi Superstarz at the score of just 80 runs in 15.4 overs. Simarjeet (3/15) and Baroka led the bowling attack from the front, alongside decisive support from Money Grewal, Gavnish Khurana, and Pranshu Vijayran.

Central Delhi Kings’ run chase was off to a swashbuckling and fiery start as the opening pair of Yash Dhull and Siddharth Joon smashed 40 runs in just 2.1 overs. It all started with 17 runs in the first over, with three fours smashed by Joon off Sumit Beniwal’s bowling. This over also included three wide balls bowled by Beniwal to make it more expensive. The outstanding first over was followed by Joon’s batting carnage in the second over as he smashed 23 runs in the second over, with four fours and a six. Joon’s fireworks took CDK’s score to 40 runs in just two overs. The blistering partnership came to an end on the first ball of the third over when Joon fell prey to Ayush Badoni after playing a quick knock of 32 runs off just 10 balls. Joon’s knock was followed by another quick and unbeaten partnership of 42 runs for the second wicket between Yash Dhull and Yugal Saini. Dhull took charge of power hitting and smashed 29 runs off just 15 balls, with three fours and two sixes, alongside Saini’s 12-run knock. On the back of these brilliant contributions, the Kings smashed 82/1 in just six overs. With this win, the Kings have also continued their winning streak in the tournament’s current edition.

Star pacer Simarjeet Singh won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his match-winning spell (3/15 in three overs). His bowling performance played a pivotal role in CDK’s nine-wicket win over South Delhi Superstarz.
