WI vs Pak preview

The third and final game of the West Indies versus Pakistan ODI series is set to be held in Trinidad on August 12. The two teams will battle it out one last time with the series levelled 1-1 and hope to make a comeback after suffering clean sweeps each in their last 50-over series.

‌The Pakistan tour of the West Indies is down to the third and final game, with the series levelled at 1-1. The deciding fixture will once again be held at the Brian Lara Stadium at Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago, on Tuesday.

West Indies had come into the series after facing a 3-0 whitewash on the tour of England and started the current series with a loss against the Green Shirts, where they failed to defend a competitive target of 281 on a tough batting track. However, they managed to make a comeback in the second ODI where they emerged victorious in a low-scoring venture to tie the series. Their top performers of the series so far have been Roston Chase, who is currently leading the scoring charts with 102 runs, and Jayden Seales who is on top of the wickets charts.

Pakistan’s form in ODIs has not been promising either. Apart from failing to win the home tri-series and Champions Trophy, they also suffered a clean sweep against New Zealand in April. The Green Shirts showed a lot of promise in the first game of the series, but failed miserably in the second match, where they were outplayed by the hosts in a rain-affected game. Their top run scorer in the series is Hasan Nawaz with 99 runs, and their top wicket taker is Shaheen Shah Afridi, who is tied with Seales with four scalps.

Form Guide

Both teams' recent form in ODI cricket has not been the best as they have only won one match in the last five games they have played.

Pitch and Weather

The Brian Lara Stadium has been a slow and dry track where batters have struggled to time their shots. However, the wicket tends to get easier as the game progresses, as was the case in the previous two games. This is the reason the team fielding first has been successful on this surface, often restricting the batting side to a below-par score and chasing down the total in the second innings.

The weather report for Trinidad does not look promising as there are high chances of a thunderstorm that can affect the game.

Team News

The West Indies are expected to go unchanged in the upcoming game.

Pakistan are expected to bring Naseem Shah back into the playing eleven in place of Hasan Ali.
