Review | Smriti Mandhana and Sneh Rana star in India Women’s thumping win over Sri Lanka Women in ODI Tri-Series 2025 Final

India Women notched up a 97-run win against Sri Lanka Women in the final to pocket the ODI Tri-Series 2025 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday. Smriti Mandhana starred with the bat with a sublime century while Sneh Rana shone with a spell of 4/38 as India avenged their group game defeat.

‌India Women started its preparations for the ODI World Cup at home later in the year with a clinical 97-run win over Sri Lanka Women in the final of the ODI Tri-Series 2025 in Colombo on Sunday. The win also helped the visitors avenge their earlier defeat to the same opponents in the group stage of the tournament, which had South Africa as the third team. 

Opting to bat first, India posted a gigantic 342/7 in their allotted 50 overs with Smriti Mandhana leading the way with her innings of 116. Her 11th century in ODIs, which came off 101 balls, consisted of 15 fours and two sixes. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues also came with valuable cameos to push the side past the 300-run mark. 

Sri Lanka, in pursuit of the tall total, was skittled out for 245 in the penultimate over with 10 balls to spare despite skipper Chamari Athapaththu’s fighting half-century. Sneh Rana was the leading lady with the ball picking up 4/38 in 9.2 overs while Amanjot Singh ended with 3/54 from her eight overs. 

Smriti Mandhana was adjudged the Player of the Final while Sneh Rana won the Player of the Tournament award for scalping 15 wickets, the highest by any bowler in the series.
