IPL 2025 | Twitter reacts as Arshad Khan takes an unexpected tumble twice on the crease

A bowler’s stride is crucial and his biggest weapon, but sometimes it can go off balance. That’s exactly what happened in the match between Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, where Arshad Khan struggled, slipping on the crease while delivering the ball due to grass on the pitch.

‌Hoping to secure a top-two spot and qualify directly for Qualifier 1, Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bowl first. The decision paid off early, as Mohammed Siraj conceded just eight runs in the first over, including only one boundary. Gill then turned to left-arm pace, handing the ball to Arshad Khan. However, the Madhya Pradesh bowler had a rocky start, not once, but twice.

As Arshad ran in to deliver the first ball of the second over, he jumped for his stride but didn’t land his back foot properly. He slipped on the surface and fell hard on his left shoulder, clearly in pain. The physio rushed onto the field immediately to attend to him. Unfortunately, Arshad’s troubles weren’t over. After conceding a four and a six off the next two deliveries, he prepared to bowl the fourth ball and slipped again while trying to deliver. Though he got back on his feet and slowly returned to his mark, the physio came out once more to check on him. Meanwhile, more sawdust was sprinkled on the landing area. The Twitterverse quickly picked up on the poor pitch conditions, sympathising with Arshad’s misfortune.
