Suyash Sharma let Mullanpur know he had arrived in the Qualifier 1 between RCB and PBKS on Thursday

When Cristiano Ronaldo patted his chest and identified himeslf as the saviour in 2012, a stunned Camp Nou watched agape, and the gesture has since become a staple in global sports. Suyash Sharma was the latest to brandish the gesture in Mullanpur on Thursday after he left Punjab Kings reeling.

‌Punjab Kings were not prepared for the storm that awaited them in Qualifier 1 as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru ran rampant after opting to bowl first and practically sealed the encounter within the first 10 overs. Four powerplay wickets and the departure of Nehal Wadhera three deliveries later had already left the hosts reeling at 50/5 but they were yet to contend with the challenge of Suyash Sharma. However, the wrist-spinner presented little wicket-taking threat with just five wickets in the tournament so far -- or so was the conception, until reality came screaming.

Suyash just took two balls to wield his magic as a gorgeous googly spun past a slogging Shashank Singh and rattled the middle stump, sending the young bowler wheeling away in joy. With the cameras focused on him, Suyash raised his index finger and numerously thumped his chest with it, before inverting the digit and pointing to the ground to signal he had arrived and was there to save the day. The celebration made two more cameos soon thereafter when the 22-year-old trapped Musheer Khan plumb in front two balls later and then undid Marcus Stoinis with another wrong'un.

Twitterati could not be more impressed.
