After being the standout signing for Elgin City Women at the start of the SWFL North campaign, Norwegian striker Mia Lundberg has more than delivered on her bold promise to outscore compatriot Erling Haaland. Lundberg has netted an astonishing 46 goals in just 27 appearances, averaging 1.7 goals per game, far surpassing Haaland’s tally of 30 goals from 39 appearances for Manchester City this season.

Her latest performance saw her score five goals in just over an hour during a dominant 12-0 win over Stonehaven, which also marked Elgin City’s 16th consecutive league victory and sealed the SWFL North title. The team has now scored 100 league goals in 16 matches, with two league games and a promotion play-off remaining. Lundberg opened the scoring early in the match and secured four goals before halftime.

She was subbed off after her fifth goal to preserve energy and avoid further embarrassment for the opposition. Other contributors to the scoreline included Sarah Westwood, Darcy Matheson, Lily Morrison (2), Orla Scott, Alexa Mann, and an own goal.
