As the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 approaches, Bengal Warriorz have handed the captaincy to star raider Devank Dalal, who was bought for Rs 2.205 crore, making him the most expensive Indian player at the auction. Devank, coming off a stellar Season 11 where he topped the raiding charts with 301 raid points, joins an elite group of players to cross the 300-point milestone in a single season.
His comeback story is inspirational, as he recovered from a life-threatening skull injury in Season 10 to win the Best Player award at the 71st Senior National Men’s Kabaddi Championship. Alongside him, Nitesh Kumar has been named defence captain. Known for his consistency, Nitesh remains the only player in PKL history to record 100 tackle points in a season and has already accumulated over 400 career tackles. His calm leadership is expected to anchor the youthful defensive unit.
Head coach Naveen Kumar praised the leadership duo, calling Devank’s attacking fearlessness and Nitesh’s defensive steadiness a perfect balance for the team. The Warriorz squad features a blend of raiders like Jang Kun Lee and Omid Khojasteh, dependable defenders such as Yash Malik and Amandeep, and all-rounders Moolchandra Singh and Shivansh Thakur. With this combination, Bengal Warriorz look ready for an exciting PKL 2025 campaign.
