‌London Spirit will aim to end Trent Rockets’ unbeaten run in the Hundred Men’s 2025 campaign when both sides meet at Lord’s in London on Thursday. The Rockets, after winning both their games, are placed second in the points table with eight points while the Spirit are sixth in the eight team league with one win and two losses in three games.

Spirit walk into the game after a 10-run defeat in an away game to Manchester Originals with David Warner coming good, yet again at the top of the order. His 51-ball 71, albeit in a losing cause, was his second consecutive half-century in the tournament after his unbeaten 70 off 45 balls gave Spirit their first win this year.

The left-handed batter has also been the top run-getter in the league this season with 150 runs from three games at an average of 75.00 and a strike rate of 141.50. However, Spirit’s bowling department has looked ordinary, with Liam Dawson, Daniel Worrall, and Jamie Overton picking up just three wickets each so far in the tournament.

On the other hand, the Rockets step into Lord’s with two clinical displays behind them, with the team looking to continue their unbeaten run. Wicketkeeper-batter Tom Banton leads the run scoring charts for the side with 80 runs in two matches at a strike rate of 148.14, while Lockie Ferguson is on top of Rockets’ wickets pile with four scalps.

Pitch and Conditions

The Lord’s pitch is expected to be flat and dry with initial support to the pacers before spinners come into the fray in later stages. Teams batting second may find it easier with the pitch expected to ease up considerably after the interval. In the inaugural match of the 2025 season, Oval Invincibles comfortably chased down the target after bowling out the home side for a paltry 80.

It will be a cool, clear, and dry evening in London with temperatures expected to be around 18 degrees. The viewers are expected to get uninterrupted action with only 2% chance of rain.

Neither side is expected to make any changes with the same team from their respective previous games, expected to take the field at Lord’s on Thursday.
