Napoli Eyes Manchester City Midfielder Matheus Nunes

As the January transfer window approaches, Napoli have set their sights on Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes. The Serie A champions have reportedly contacted Nunes’ agent, Jorge Mendes, exploring a potential move. Nunes, who joined City from Wolves in 2023 for €60 million, has made 83 appearances for the club but has struggled for regular playing time this season, logging just 244 minutes across four of City’s first six Premier League matches.

Known for his versatility, the Portuguese international can operate as both a central midfielder and a right back, making him an attractive option for Napoli, especially with key midfielder Andre-Frank Anguissa likely to miss time due to the African Cup of Nations. Napoli have successfully recruited former City star Kevin De Bruyne on a free transfer this summer, and Nunes could join a growing list of ex-Premier League players at the club, including Scott McTominay, Romelu Lukaku, Frank Anguissa, and Billy Gilmour.
