Kepa Arrizabalaga Linked with January Move Despite Arsenal Debut.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, signed by Arsenal from Chelsea for £5million in the summer, may leave the club after just one appearance. The goalkeeper debuted in the EFL Cup against Port Vale, keeping a clean sheet. Reports suggest Cesc Fabregas wants him as Como’s number one, but Kepa has expressed commitment to Mikel Arteta’s project and staying at the Emirates.

In the summer, Arsenal signed goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea for £5 million to act as backup to David Raya. Kepa, who previously spent a season on loan at Bournemouth and had a spell at Real Madrid, made his Arsenal debut in the EFL Cup against Port Vale, keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory. Despite this promising start, the Spaniard’s playing time is expected to be limited, mostly featuring in cup competitions, as Arsenal already have several new signings like Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres, and Noni Madueke making an impact.

Reports have emerged linking Kepa with a potential move to Serie A side Como, where ex-Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas is now involved. Fabregas reportedly wants Kepa to become his first-choice goalkeeper and hopes to lure him during the January transfer window. Como currently sit on seven points after four matches and aim to compete for European qualification this season.

However, Kepa has expressed his desire to stay at Arsenal and contribute to Mikel Arteta’s ambitions. He praised the team, staff, and facilities, emphasizing his commitment to helping Arsenal succeed and push for trophies. At 30, Kepa seems focused on fighting for his place rather than leaving the Emirates Stadium so soon after joining.
